Or so it seems. My daughter called yesterday - she was realllllllly sick. I know it came about from all the running around and staying up late she's been doing since school has been out (due to Hurricane Ike).
Her throat hurt, her neck hurt (that's the one that scared me), her head hurt, and she was dizzy.
I called the doctor from work and they could work her in. She drove herself over and I was close behind.
Seems this child's tonsils are abnormally HUGE. We knew this, but it's gotten to be a problem now.
Looks like they'll have to come out. We have to see an ENT first, though.
So, school started TODAY and she has to miss the first day. Do you have any idea how much we have been praying for school to start? Well, whatever you just imagined, double it!
But, poor little thing, she is truly ill (doctor-certified) so home she stays.

awwww hope she gets better soon...better stock up on the ice cream or better yet buy stock now ;-)
Today is my day to visit everyone that has signed up for SSS so far we are up to 42!
I hope you left the girl a freezer full of ice cream and a stack of classic Disney movies!
Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday...100 things and being saucy was a lot of fun!!
Poor thing...I didn't get mine out until I was 35!! yuck!!
Are her tonsils normally big? Both my girls have GINORMOUS tonsils - I don't know how many times I've gotten phone calls from babysitters and daycare moms "HER TONSILS ARE HUGE!!!!! You need to take her in" but there's nothing wrong, they just come that way...
So, to get to the point (I promise when I'm president I won't ramble so much)... I'm wondering if my girls perhaps aren't complete weirdos and other kids just have ginormous tonsils....
Tonsils, yuk, hope she likes soft stuff.
Oh, the poor possum...that is just not fair at all. Tonsils as a teenager/adult hurt big time.
I guess it seems like school is never going to start for you.
(((((Hugs)))))
Hi! I found you under "Texas" over at "Blog around the World".
So sorry to hear about your daughter! Praying for her to feel better and be able to go back to school soon. Hopefully they will be able to schedule her surgery soon.
Thanks for stopping by my blog on the BATW tour to New Zealand. I hope that you're now recovered from the weather and that your daughter gets well soon.
I had that done when I was in college. It wasn't TOO bad. I hope she feels better :)
Oh, poor girl! I had my tonsils out spring break my senior year. It took me the whole week to recover. Not one of my favorite memories. Hope she is better soon.
