The Things People Choose

Sometimes I have people request to use my images... for the oddest things... work seminars, CDs, concerts, flyers, and such. For some reason, the one below is requested most. Go figure. I did it AGES ago and it looks so "not right" to me - meaning, I see so many things I could've done better.

creativity

I've been posting more about all this lately... maybe I am about to get the bug again... I kind of hope so... about ready to start being creative artistically again.... maybe all my creative energy has been going to a soon-to-be seventeen year old.

Speaking of my child...yesterday, she looks me in the face with these great big green eyes and says, "Mom, I don't want you to judge me, but I want to try some 'shrooms."

So, when I could lift my jaw back up, I say, "MUSHrooms??"

She says, "They're not illegal, Mom, they grow in the ground."

Well, you can imagine the rest of the conversation.... and now you know why my creativity is sapped. My kid tells me WAY more than I would've ever told my parents....

Holy cats I love this image of yours! LYNDA! PAINTPAINTPAINT! I should send a little note to my pal Jerry and say that he needs to take the dogs and daughter out every Saturday and Sunday afternoon so that you can just PAINT.
Speaking of daughters, holy sh!t. Glad she's honest. Of course, poppies also grow in the ground, as does weed, and poison ivy too. Tell your daughter to try poison ivy first, and see how that goes....
(none of my business, but I got into art at her age, is there something like that she could get interested in? horses, golf, painting, pottery, bugee jumping?)

I thing Gary has a good idea, poison ivy first ... I hope she is just looking for an excuse to say no.

I can recall that age and wanting to try the same thing. Good luck with that.

Wow, at least she's open with you! When someone says, "Don't worry, it's natural" about anything (food, cleaning product, vitamin), I always think, "So are pot and tabacco, but that doesn't mean they're good for you!"

Wait...the shrooms you can buy at the grocery store or the psychedelic ones? Speaking of psychedelic, love the artwork. The one you did for me is framed and hanging above my home computer, where I can contemplate it often.
