As you may have noticed, I don't "go there" when it comes to politics. In fact, I don't think I'm even going to go there now. Why bring it up? Beats me.
I know that some of you are very passionate about your choices and I love that! I am, too, however, I'm not telling. No, I am not ashamed or afraid...I'm just not telling.
Here we go with a Seinfeld post again, but it is what it is. I am not even sure I was "raised this way" or not, but I have a strong belief that my vote is extremely private. Just as I believe my salary is my business - not my family's or my child's business. To me, this is a decision I am making from my research, my perspectives, what matters to me for our country and my family, and all other aspects that are important to me as a person and an American.
What I can't quite "get" is how others believe you can coax someone to your "side" by confrontation, intimidation, or even signage. From what I've seen, it just encourages disengagement.
As a proud American, I relish the privilege of voting and believe this right is sacred.
Well, I didn't think I'd do it, but I went there without giving it up.
So tell me...is it important to you that others know your election choices? And why?
Oh, and if (now this is out of left field and just for fun) these were the choices, which would you choose?

I think this is why America is a great country - if you want to keep your vote private, that is fine. If you want to write about it or talk about or post signs about it, that is fine too. I don't broadcast my choice, but if asked, I will definitely state my opinions.
Thanks for your comment on my post today. I wasn't sure what reaction to expect, so it was nice to see your comment!
I found you on SITS, you were ahead of me in roll call today. Great blog!
I NEVER tell anyone my vote and I don't discuss politics. I have always been that way. It just makes me uncomfortable.
Keep up the good work.
definitely chef ramsey. the other one says bad words
OMG I may just start cooking after looking at him. YUM!
I have 7 or is it 8? signs all over our yard. I am pretty public about my choice.
But the important thing is, as you say, that it is your decision and your privacy that matters most.
I have no idea who either of those dudes are, but I was thinking Yogi Berra for president and Sarah Silverman for veep would make a nice and balanced ticket.
I'm with Wep...so here you go - revealing my alternate choice - Gordon Ramsay. He'd straighten some peeps out ;-)
Great blog and page.Im new here visiting from Garys page. I wanted to see your comment about the election. I totally agree with you.I dont share my info with others. As I said on Garys blog, things seem to be getting very steamy to say the least about this election.Granted this is the MOST important one we will see in our time.So who knows, lots of crazy people out there.~~becky~~~
I think I'd take the Dog;-)
Lynda,
Thanks for the nice comment on my blog! I received my SSS partner today and I could not be more happy! She is so perfect for me.
As for which one would I choose? You are so funny my dear . . . In my old roudy rebel days probably "The Dog", now that I know what I know . . . I would NEVER choose an idiot like that!!! LOL
Gary, you have GOT to start watching some TV, man. And, it's nice to see some new faces!
Totally for Gordon...I like my candidates clean and grumpy!
Yay, blogger is working for me today. Yesterday I wasn't able to leave comments?!!?
I loved this post. You know, while I was growing up you NEVER asked someone who they were voting for. You are right.. it is like asking someone how much they make.
But, I'm pretty outspoken and everyone knows who I am voting for. Although, I don't care to 'talk' about it on my blog. I don't want to feel the need to defend why and who I'm voting for. It truly just can be ugly. I try to remember that God is in control no matter who is in the white house. :)
As for your vote on the two pictures... I don't know who they are so I'm just going with the dude who cooks. I love a man in the kitchen. LOL
I saw you on SITS you were the post before me on roll call.
I'm going to say I would go with Gordon. Maybe Dog could be the VP!
Love your blog and will be back!
oooh Chef Ramsay because feeding me makes me HAPPY!
I agree with you... I won't "go there" either. I won't discuss politics. I am well informed and believe the mud-slinging, on both sides, has got to go!
