I have a boy. i loved getting clothes and jewelry when i was that age...but i dont think he will. i know he is into all the electronics - but that's not in my budget. I am thinking maybe tickets to a show or a "coupon" for a party or to take him a a pizza joint with a few of his friends or something.EmmaPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13674416956252503821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5095367542296618021.post-87604738307197712612008-11-11T11:46:00.000-06:002008-11-11T11:46:00.000-06:00some of the best gifts i have recieved have been t...some of the best gifts i have recieved have been the simplist
one yr I got the 4 ingrediant cookbook-FANTASTIC gift idea

anything with my intial on it always brings a smile to face-

when i buy gifts I go for the unique this yr lots of family members are getting nfl/college themed garden gnomes ;-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13755834803574964576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5095367542296618021.post-89657767658619196112008-11-11T09:30:00.000-06:002008-11-11T09:30:00.000-06:00My mom is in her 80's and for the last few years, ...My mom is in her 80's and for the last few years, I have been doing gift certificates for her. Either a meal/movie or mani/pedi or massage or maybe shopping. They are all given with a nice letter from me saying I will go with her on the adventure. We have a lot of fun cashing in those gift certificates!

For my sister and other relatives, I have started doing a lot of baking and candy-making. They have everything they need and just don't need any more junk. I fix lovely Xmas tins (usually can find them at Goodwill) and fill them with their favorites. They seem very appreciative!

I'm also good at making baskets for people. Again, I find lovely baskets at Goodwill all the time and just save them. Then I make a "theme" basket like scrapbooking, bath products, etc. It's amazing what cute things you can find at the dollar stores to go in baskets!!Jan Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01017940083154196373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5095367542296618021.post-45267310663849847842008-11-11T09:17:00.000-06:002008-11-11T09:17:00.000-06:00Thanks for visiting (and commenting!) on my BATW d...Thanks for visiting (and commenting!) on my BATW day!

Always nice to hear from a fellow Texas (and a Houstonian no less!).Casey (@ Chaos and Cardboard)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15979995574956608644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5095367542296618021.post-81674539602212871432008-11-11T09:00:00.000-06:002008-11-11T09:00:00.000-06:00Gary, you are the best! There were about 11 photos of Petey, showing his whole life. That was something alright! Still makes me teary!

I think that this year what most people probably appreciate and want most is handmade pottery.
