Boo!

When did Halloween sneak up on me? It seems like October just started.

I'm sounding like my grandmother now. That's not a bad thing.

Do you remember your Halloween costumes? I had some beautifully handmade ones - tiger, devil, princess, ballerina, and a cat. And then there were the store-bought costumes. I remember being Caspar the Ghost. That mask got SO hot! I don't guess those are legal to sell anymore, are they? I was also a witch and Wonder Woman with those masks. I can still smell that plastic right up next to my face and how it felt trying to breathe out of that little mouth hole.

Then, we got older...and we're hippies, hobos, and kooky things like One-A-Day Vitamins.

I'm kind of glad that now I just get to pass the candy out to all the cute little ones. The teens? Sure seems like older and older kids are trick-or-treating. Ugh.

In fact, I've got a crazy snap from Back in the Day posted at My Place today! My Mom didn't sew, but was crafty, and we usually went to the Goodwill store a couple of weeks before the big nite to "whip up" something, as she would say. Have a Happy!

Happy Halloween! We hardly get any little kiddos in our neighborhood anymore...they've all grown up into greedy teenagers!

The SCARY thing about Halloween is the rest of the holidays will be upon me in no time and another year will have bitten the dust before I've caught my breath, ha! We had a grand total of 8 trick-or-treaters, the smallest amount ever since we moved in to this house 26 years ago. It was really QUIET out there last nite.

Dear Superior Scribbler: Sorry for the "canned" and unrelated nature of this post, but I wanted to get to as many of you tonite as possible. One of the things that we at Scholastic Scribe are most proud of is the Silly Sunday Sweepstakes. Several of you are already familiar with the arbitrary and quite inane weekly attempt at humor...for you, and for those of you who have not yet played Sx3, I urge you to drop by Sunday to see what's up. Oh, and congrats on being named a SS. You earned it!
